FIVE FAST FACTS TO KNOW ABOUT HIGH QUALITY CPR

  1. Decrease interruptions during chest compressions

  2. Provide adequate compressions of proper rate and depth

  3. Avoid leaning during compressions

  4. Ensure proper hand placement

  5. Avoid excessive ventilation

Survival rates are low for bystander CPR with only about 40% of people who suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest survive.

  • Effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival, but only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander (Dainty et al., 2021)
